Boston racer Ben Wilson begins his British Supersport campaign with Gearlink Kawasaki at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend and, after some positive test results, is full of confidence he can produce some top results.
Ben Wilson and his teammate Chris Martin attended the official Kawasaki test at Valencia in Spain recently where the finishing touches were put to the two Ninja ZX-6R Supersport machines.
Kawasaki teams from all over Europe enjoyed two days of testing under perfect conditions with temperatures reaching 22 degrees each day and technical information was shared between the various teams in order to find the best possible set-up for each individual machine.
Both Gearlink Kawasaki riders are feeling comfortable on their respective machines and eager to turn their European experience into positive race results at Brands Hatch.
With one of the strongest British Supersport fields in recent years Wilson is under no illusion that the season will be easy for him but the new Kawasaki ZX-6R is proving to be an extremely competitive package and all at Gearlink Kawasaki are optimistic of some strong results throughout the season.
“I have a really competitive machine under me this year but of course I realise that the Supersport class is highly competitive and this year there is a glut of top class riders in the series,” said Wilson. “But I have every confidence I can be up at the sharp end of the action and will be giving it my best shot each race. The team is working really well and I have all the support I could hope for from the crew and team manager.”
The four-day meeting at Brands Hatch commences with a full day of testing on Good Friday followed by qualifying through Saturday and Sunday with racing on Easter Monday. The Fuchs Silkolene British Supersport race, run over 25 laps of the Indy circuit is set to begin at 3.15pm and will benefit from live television coverage on British Eurosport, the broadcast window being 12.30pm – 5.15pm.
