A cold day marked out 2009 edition of Grobbendonk International race, where the most talented riders from Northern Europe battled it out during this traditional pre-season race.

Honda rider Desalle took the victory while Team MX Honda Martin riders Kevin Strijbos and Marc de Reuver rounded up the podium.

Marc De Reuver:

"I'm half satisfied with my performance; in the morning the track was completely frozen and it was not possible to have a real warm up. So my muscles were not ready when 5 hours later we were battling it out during the race. The track was muddy and after a few bends I felt my arms becoming stiff, I believe this was a problem for everybody. Heat two was a lot better and I'm pretty satisfied with its result (third)".

Kevin Strijbos:

"A good race with 2 podiums and a final second position. The conditions of the race track in the morning were quite dangerous and so I tried to follow my common sense and the Team's suggestions to conclude a good training. We will go on with the Team this way in order to be prepared the best way possible for the World Championship."

Paolo Martin:

"It was important to go to Grobbendonk lining up six members of our Team and taking there the truck that we use for the World Championship in order to give as much support as possible to our riders. The race result is of
relative importance and that is not what we are chasing at the moment; I'm really satisfied with the performance of the bikes and also we have not experienced technical problems. For sure, we will keep on working hard in sight of Faenza"

Team members will come back to the Team headquarters in few days in order to prepare everything for next International race that will be held in Valence, France on February 22.
