The British Motorcycle Racing Club announces the final content for its Centennial meeting. The weekend of 18-19 April 2009 corresponds with the very first BMCRC meeting which took place at the Brooklands circuit in Surrey on the 18th April 1909.  The Brands Hatch Indy circuit has been booked for the weekend and it’s hoped that many club members will become involved both past and present. The schedule will be for club championship racing amalgamated with nostalgia, including Historic/Classic races, parades and special events.

It’s hoped that as many former Bemsee riders and past masters will join us.

The meeting is generously sponsored by EDIasia who support the Club’s Formula 400 class and who for this meeting will enable each rider, including paraders to receive a commemorative medallion as a memory of this special day.

Entry forms for both Classic Racing and Parades are being sent to members of the CRMC, British Historic Racing Club, the Landsdowne Club, Morgan Three-Wheeler Club and registered friends and associates of the Brooklands Museum. Forms will also be available on the Bemsee website at bemsee.net.

The timetable features six of the Club’s current classes, The MRO Morello Powerbikes and the MRO Triumph Triple Challenge Series are two of the Club’s premier events featuring bikes at the leading edge of the sport. There’s Bemsee favourites, the MZ Racing Club, the Norfolkline Yamaha Past Masters Series and the EDIasia Formula 400’s as well as the hugely popular Minitwins series mainly featuring Suzuki SV650 twins. Classic races will cover an Open 501-1300 Class for bikes aged 1930-74, A Post-Classic Class for bikes from 1974 onwards and a Classic 500 Class, 1930-74. The Lansdowne Club will be running Round 2 of their 2009 Championships, an invitation only event for pre-1962 Grand Prix thoroughbreds. To complete the racing line up will be the Morgan Three-Wheeler Club racing alongside old timer sidecars, machines up to 1974.

Both days will feature historic parades as well covering bikes from the turn of the last Century in the “Brooklands Celebration” parade to Post-War Classics. There will also be memories evoked of the famous Hutchinson 100 races held later at Brands Hatch through to 1976, in the “Hutchinson Parade”.

The paddock will feature displays from a wide range of owners clubs of past and present marques including bikes from the Brooklands museum.

Members or Past Masters & Champions and Owners Clubs interested in being involved should contact Mike Dommett at the BMCRC office on 01708 720305 or mikedommett@hotmail.com.
