There’s less than three weeks to go until the World’s top trial riders will be entertaining the crowds at Sheffield Arena for the first round of the SPEA FIM World Indoor Trials Championship. Saturday 3rd January will kick-start the World Championship and spectators will be in for a night of non-stop action from the world’s best as they battle it out to be crowned ‘King of Sheffield’.
Taking on the perilous course and representing Great Britain will be Dougie Lampkin, 12 times World Champion, 8 times winner of the ‘King of Sheffield’ title and British Number One. Alongside Dougie will be youngster Michael Brown, the reigning European Trials Champion, who will be looking for success as he tackles Sheffield for the second time.
Also revving up their engines and looking to take the crown will be 2008 Double World Champion Toni Bou and fellow Spaniards, Adam Raga, Albert Cabastany and Jeroni Fajardo. Everyone’s favourite Japanese rider, Takahisa ‘Fujigas’ Fujinami, completes the line up for the spectacular New Year Showdown.
