Recently crowned British Superbike Champion, Shane Byrne, has traded tarmac for mud as part of his regime to maintain fitness during the winter months.
A keen Motocrosser, Byrne has taken delivery of a brand new 2009 Kawasaki KX450F four-stroke motocross machine and plans to make riding it a key part of his off-season training schedule.
“If it’s good enough for Seb Pourcel then it should be good enough for me,” joked the 32 year old reigning BSB champion and former MotoGP rider. “I’ve had trials and MX bikes for years. Everyone says the new KX450F is an awesome machine so I can’t wait to get out on it.”
