British bodywork specialists Skidmarx have created a collection of cool carbon accessories to dress up Honda’s naked muscle bike, the CB1000R.
Naked motorcycles are popular with British riders (approximately 20% of all new bikes sold), but the lack of bodywork makes them vulnerable to cosmetic damage caused by road grime. So Skidmarx designed a rear hugger and bellypan for Honda’s 130bhp muscle bike.
Manufactured from hand laid carbon fibre, the hugger weighs just 350 grams and mounts directly onto the exquisite single sided swing arm with a tailor made fitting kit. It sells for £129.95 and for owners on a budget there is a GRP glass fibre option at £69.95 inc. VAT. There is also a replacement carbon fibre front guard, which can be fitted onto the existing mounting points and sells for £99.95.
Providing protection from road grime, the bellypan is also produced from hand laid carbon fibre and, like the hugger, is exceptionally light. Supplied with a tailored fitting kit, it retails for £225, ready to bolt onto exiting mounting points (£69.95 in GRP).
Skidmarx have also produced replacement radiator side covers in carbon fibre (£150/pair) and carbon fibre hand-guards, priced at £89.95 (or £49.95 in GRP). To protect the CB1000R’s highly distinctive triangular multi-reflector headlight from stone chips and road debris, Skidmarx offer a headlight cover. Formed from 3mm acrylic to follow the complex shape of this modern light unit, it is held securely in place with Scotch Lock fixing pads and retail for £19.50.
