Millenium Motorcycles in St Helens has become the latest UK dealer to take on the Victory Motorcycles franchise and is now selling the American V-twin range from its Merseyside base.
Millenium is part of the MotoGB group of companies and is also associated with KJM SuperBike, which is also now selling Victory models from its own outlet near Wigan.
David Brown, managing director of Millenium Motorcycles, first noticed the Victory brand around 18 months ago and was, he says, impressed from the start. “A regular customer of ours turned up on a Jackpot and it looked great. I thought ‘I’d like to sell those’, so I began doing some research.
“We started selling the bikes towards the end of the summer,” he continues, “which was a bit late in the season, but the reaction has been really positive. We’ve got a lot to learn about the brand and we’re under no illusions about the amount of work we have to do, but we like our cruisers here and Victory is a little bit different from the others.”
Brown believes that a mix of marketing in the north-west will be required to promote the Victory brand locally. “Although it’s always quieter at this time of year,” he says, “we’ve got some advertising planned, but the real key to these bikes is getting them out there. We’re taking a couple of Victory models around to local bikes meets as well, just to get people looking at them, sitting on them and talking about them.”
