2008 FIM SuperMoto World Championship - Stats
Another victory followed the success of Andorra for French young gun Thomas Chareyre; the Husqvarna CH Racing rider took his first season’s win in Pas de la Casa to keep up the winning streak at Busca.
Chareyre took victory in the opening heat where DRC SuperMoto Aprilia Factory’s Thierry Van Den Bosch was disqualified; the three time World Champion took revenge in heat two courtesy of a dominant win, the fourth of the season.
Missing the points zone in the opening heat VDB lost valuable Championship points to Bernd Hiemer of KTM Italia Miglio. The Championship leader took another podium at Busca as his virtually perfect season was hampered only by the fourth place of Andorra.
Another podium finisher in Busca was second place holder Ivan Lazzarini of DRC SuperMoto Aprilia Factory. As Hiemer is pulling away in the Championship, VDB, Chareyre and Lazzarini are setting up a dogfight for the runner up position.

S2
Even though Husqvarna CH Racing’s Adrien Chareyre took the Superpole it was TM Factory’s Davide Gozzini to take the holeshot and run away in both heats.
The home rider made just one mistake in the final lap of heat one, losing the front end and crashing. Chareyre, who had pressurized Gozzini until then, found himself at the lead and won.
Gozzini went out strong in heat two and dominated from the start to the flag though his solid performance was not worth the overall victory because of a sixth place finish in heat one.
Chareyre was the eventual winner making it another family 1-1 after Andorra-his brother Thomas won the S1 GP; the 2007 S1 World Champion also kept the red plate as he leads the Championship from a close Gozzini.
The latter salvaged the weekend with second on the podium as DRC SuperMoto Aprilia Factory’s Christian Iddon rounded off the rostrum at his first top three appearance of 2008.
