Bardney road race specialist Ivan Lintin notched up four top results at the Scarborough Gold Cup meeting recently scoring a seventh and eighth place in the 250cc race, an 11th in the 600cc class and 10th in the Superbike event.
The meeting was held around the famous 2.4-mile Oliver’s Mount road circuit that overlooks Scarborough bay and Lintin had a tough day ahead of him when he rode in three consecutive races during the afternoon.
Practice saw Lintin have a couple of minor crashes, being caught out on cold tyres.
“I lost the front on the 250cc machine and then in the next practice on the Superstock bike I managed to highside on the very first lap on a cold tyre,” explained Lintin. “But it wasn’t all bad news as I managed to take three and a half seconds off my times on the big bike and am knocking on the door of the front runners.
“In the 600cc event I actually managed to pass Adrian Archibald on the last lap to claim 11th place so I am quite pleased with myself.”
The Gold Cup meeting concludes Lintin’s race season for this year although there is a slight possibility he could be awarded a late entry into the Sunflower Trophy meeting at Bishopscourt in Ireland later in the month.
