The fifth Superbike World Championship round of the 2006 season takes place this weekend at Silverstone, in the Northamptonshire area of England. LB are on hand to provide coverage. With the qualifying done the day before, Sunday is reserved just for racing. The morning saw Superstock and race one of the SBK class. In the afternoon was race two of the SBK class, which started off far neater than the earlier race, and had everyone holding onto each other, or themselves whilst Haga, Xaus, Toseland and Bayliss scrapped it out. Bayliss took first place in the end, which becomes his seventh win in a row. With the race over, the riders came back into Parc Firmé, Bayliss first, then Haga. Toseland took longer arriving... not because he was celebrating, but because he had stripped off all his clothes, bar his socks and boxers, and threw his kit away into the grand-stand crowd as a mark of respect for all the support the locals had given the British racer.
