As it was my first time to Oulton Park I was impressed by the picturesque setting of the track. With a little sun and fine weather on Friday it was with a positive mind set that we settle down in our cars for our first night of BSB coverage that wasn’t snowing, raining or in sub-zero temperatures.

When the rain began falling on Saturday I found out that the very pretty Oulton park becomes a smelly bog around most parts of the track when the weather takes a turn for the worst. Still we took it on the chin and got down and dirty to bring you more LB race coverage. With Crutchlow on pole it made a HM Plant Honda, Airwaves Ducati, Suzuki Rizla and HM Plant Honda front row.

With rain drops starting to fall the first race started on Monday with every rider on slicks. Byrne in second position made a bad start off the grid with which meant he avoided the pile up in turn one which claimed Cal Crutchlow, Guy Martin, Tom Sykes and Billy McConnell. The race was red flagged. With the rain now falling consistently the race restarted with all riders now wearing wets, along with much new bodywork!

During race 2 I was shooting at Druids when Karl Harris came off yet again. It’s painful to see someone have so much bad luck. I could see him battling with the controls desperately trying to keep it shiny side up but he finally slid out on the grass and the bike took a good few rolls. Sykes crashed in a controversial coming together with Haslam and then Crtuchlow also came off in front of me. It appeared to be a simple slide into the gravel yet when he tried to get up he just lifted his head and one shoulder and then fell back and didn’t move. The race was red flagged with Byrne declared the winner of both races of the weekend.
