Tuesday the 29th of April, and the day of the first official londonbikers.com trackday. LB has always loved trackdays and always managed to bring along a good crowd of folk to various circuits, but this time it was our trackday. In partnership with MSV, the owners of the circuit, we put on a londonbikers.com day with them at Brands Hatch. There was a huge amount of interest in this day and it soon sold out.
Come the day, the event was still fully booked and not a spare place was available, event with the weather as it was. It was clear April would live up to its reputation as the month of shows. Heavy showers. It rained for a good part of the day but dried out after about 1pm allowing everyone to get the most out of their day.
Brands Hatch is a grippy circuit in the wet so most went out feeling confident and rode within their limits. Towards lunch time though a couple of bikes went down due to too much right-hand abuse from their pilots. No injuries or too heavily damaged bikes. All part of the experience if you push it on track
There was a great atmosphere with so many LB'ers in one place, and a good number of members turning up just to spectate and help out their friends even though they weren't on track. This is what LB is all about, the community/social aspect of biking!
Due to the success of the day, we will be putting on a series of exclusive londonbikers.com members-only trackdays this year, to give more space for members and to let those recently bitten by the trackday bug to explore more what it's all about.
