Waking up at Brands Hatch after a freezing night we were greeted with snow at yet another BSB meeting. And I thought photographing motorsport was supposed to be glamorous!

Friday had been warm and sunny with most riders getting lots of free practice in with Saturday being mostly dry too. Only after the BSB riders qualified in the afternoon with Shane Byrne taking the first pole of the season did it start to rain with the qualifying 125 and R1 riders taking the full force of the late afternoon downpour. We were told on Saturday evening that the bulk of the storm was going to miss the circuit and we should be in for a mostly fine race day. Throughout Sunday morning the snow got heavier and just before midday Jonathan Palmer announced the meeting was cancelled.

Interestingly none of this years bikes had flaming exhausts. Are they now tuned better or differently? Although it may be better from a tuning perspective it was a little disappointing for us photographers!
