Tonight was the opening night of our new mid-week meet venue. Located at the entrance of Borough Market, smack-bang in the middle of London is a perfect place for us all to meet after work on Wednesday nights. The members were warned, the word was put out, and over 100 people turned up on the night on all different type of bikes. Lady luck was with us as well to keep the weather nice and pleasant!
At any new venue, we had some concerns about how things would go; would people turn up, would there be any parking troubles, would the locals mind, would the weather hold out? In the end, there were no problems and everyone seemed really happy to be out once again chatting to old friends and new ones alike. The atmosphere was great with everyone really pleased with the venue.
A great night was had with everyone trying the local food stalls and pubs, some getting authentic Sushi dishes and others trying the gourmet sausages just opposite the bike rank. We look forward to next week and can see thing being an absolute belter of a night come the summer.
As usual, if you do come down, please remember that whilst this isn't a residential area, the success and longevity of the meet depends on our behaviour, and we all represent LB, so please don't make excessive noise by rev'ing engines or the like. See you there!
