Description
Senior Focused Events instructor, and member, B, took it upon himself to organise a trackday for the die-hard members who didn't care about such things as weather forecasts or the odd bit of rain. A dozen members signed up and the day arrived; the day started out damp, but we all got there in high-spirits, looking forward to the day.
The first session was damp, but not raining, so we all circulated, getting a feeling for things and were happy that lap after lap, it was drying out, then come the second set of sessions, it rained again, and quite heavy. Spirits were still high as B motivated everyone with words of wisdom and encouragement. Everyone went out and found that there was far more grip than we all gave it credit for. Most took the time to learn to smooth out throttle actions, improve lines and generally have a bit of fun.
Lunch came, and so did a proper Touring car, which got an hour's worth of track time. The noise was incredible, like a race bike; loud and screaming! After lunch it stopped raining, some wind whipped up and before we knew it, it was dry out there! Whohoo! Everyone's eyes lit up and we all started to up the pace and have some proper fun.
No mis-haps were had, with everyone listening to B's many-years of racing/track experience and worked the pace up throughout the day. Though Francesco couldn't help himself and got distracted and ended up parking his bike in some gravel, but kept it upright and rejoined the track!
So, do we do another, be brave and go with it, or do we wait until next year? Hrm, decisions, decisions! Go to the forum post below and let us know!
