Description
This is the second annual Kill Spills Rally, sponsored by the BMF and Bike Safe. It's a protest against the seemingly unwillingness of the Government to tackle the problem of diesel being spilt on the roads by large vehicles, such as buses, haulers and vans. Diesel is a life-threatening hazzard to bikers, causing bikes to lose traction and inevitably, crash.
The rally started off at the Ace Café, directed by the Police and a series of elected marshalls, then headed down to Whitehall to deliver their protest in person to members of Parliment. There's no official numbers at the moment, but we would hazzard a guess at roughly 3,000 bikes attended, arrived at Parliment, then after some time, departed back to the Ace Café.
This was a very strong turnout, with people showing their support for the cause.
LB members attended as well, documenting the event with photos. There's more to come, but for now, here's what we have. Congratulations to the organisers for putting this together, and we hope it has some effect!
