Description

Honda by far had the largest stand at the show, with nearly about a quarter of the manufacturers hall for themselves. Unfortunately for us though, they didn't have any cool photos for us to publish, only a hand-ful from Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki. So we thought we'd lump them altogether for their sins and to save wasting space on the site.

Honda's most notable bike at the show was their revised CBR-1000 RR, aka the Fireblade. It's got a complete make-over in the cosmetics department, sporting a new front design that many are either loving, or disliking. From dead-on it looks good we think, but from the side, it's a bit weird and uninspiring. Though opinions change quickly with new bikes once we get used to them, so for now, we'll reserve judgement. The new MotoGP-esque tail section is very brave though, and we think it works well, but to hell with pillions?

Suzuki had no new models, but they did have revisions of their immensly popular Hayabusa and GSX-R 600 & 750 models. We don't think they went anywhere near as far as they should with the Hayabusa considering how long its predecessor has been out and the fact it's had no real modifications since it's inception all those years ago. The new GSX-R 600 and 750's have rather aggressive reworkings of their bodywork. At first we weren't sold, but the new shape is really starting to grow on us. We're not sure about that exhaust though, but then it doesn't really matter once everyone and their dog rips it off and puts on and after-market version for a better sound and weight reductions.

Kawasaki were showing off the new-shape ZX-10R, which has gone on a massive diet over its outgoing model which was by far the biggest 1000cc sports bike on the market. The new shape is bold and no doubt controversial. What do you think? Kawasaki have also released a brand-new model, the Ninja 250-R, which we love. We're fans of 250's for their amazing handling and accessibility and hope Kawasaki have got it right with this one. We're not sure about the headlight design though.
