Description
Flatout (Simon), organised an evening ride-out to Bognor Regis from London. The main starting point was Box Hill, though a large group started out from The Ace Café at 4pm as it was more convinient for them. A good ride was had for the Ace starters on the way to Boxhill, once there, everyone relaxed for a bit, had some refreshments and then an impromptu photo shoot was had, before Flatout explained the route, which was nice and simple, one road all the way there, through some great twisties. The Corner-Man system was employed for the route, though it wasn't really required, it helped give everyone confidence to enjoy the ride.
Once we arrived in Bognor, the first thing that happened was a few of the group were pulled over by the Police! After a brief chat, the Police left us alone and we all parked up, exchanged stories, locked the bikes up, got the some fish & chips, then came back to the bikes where those without chains managed to get five bikes locked up with one chain, with some amusing manouvers.
Surprisingly, Bognor was both very nice and also deserted! We felt like the only visitors there and had a good laugh in the various arcades or pubs (Italy vs USA game on) and then after a couple of hours, some decided to go on to Brighton and the rest returned to London, back along the route we took, but in darkness (I love this part, personally). Thanks Flatout, it was a great day! Enjoy the pics...
