i have just upgraded the master cylinder on my K3 gixxer as the oe master cylinder was not a radial one and the calipers are, so i got a GSXR 600/750 K6 nissin radial master cylinder from a friend who had it floating around as a spare, i brought a lever, a brake light switch, bleed nipple and a hell adapter from ebay total cost £25,

now the lever has less travel feels firmer and of course looks tricker i had to move my gear indicator as the master cylinder hit it but that was easy just swoped it from the left to the right side of the clocks, the swap was really easy to do just removed the old master cylinder off the bar disconnected the light switch, took the feed pipe off, after placing a towl underneath it to catch any fluid but none came out removed the brake line from the master cylinder again nothing came out, then just connected up the new one bolted it on bleed it at the master cylinder then bleed the brake lines took about 20 mins to complete i thought i was going to hit loads of problems like the feed line/brake line at the wrong angle or to short but everything fitted perfectly. iknow this mod will work on the K4 1000 model as its the same as the K3 1000 may work on the K1/K2 models but i dont have one to compare also may work on the 600/750 but again i dont have to compare with

If you feel you want more then try using the 04-06 Yamaha Calipers!!

Need a spacer - but they bolt straight on!!

Using a Brembo 19x20, braided lines, R1 Calipers and 320mm discs on mine!!

Endo Time? :P

thats on the front of my k4 750, the wheel is the same as yours, the disc is 320mm from a K3 750,(k1/3 600/750,K1/2 100 and srad discs are the same)

the calipers are of an 05 R1 and theres a 5 mill spacer

thanks ive been looking at what calipers and disks fit mine and the calipers look sweet:cool: now i know the srad disks fit i know a company that can supply me a sweet set of wavey ones for around the £130 mark, but at the moment the funds are low and the brakes are awesome with the new M/S fitted, i have a set of bendix pads to go in them as well so the mods wll have to wait a little while longer but cheers for the info, i would love a set of brembo monblocks from a 1098 but unless i rob a bank thats just a dream

1098 calipers will not fit, the centers are like 100mm? and jap bikes are 108.

R1 calipers are monoblock :)

Gizza,

When you say K5 - be careful what engine size! AFAIK the K5+ 1000 runs a diffiernt bolt pattern so the discs wont fit! The K5 600/750 discs will fit but they are the same as what you have already!

The best bet on a budget is the R1 monoblocks - I've not tried the later K5+ radial calipers but have heard rave reviews about the R1 calipers.

I used washers on my bike - I had some spacers made up but they were way too big!! Normal washers and threadlock on the caliper bolts (I do check them after and during any hard ride - they haven't budged at all in months - and I havent been taking it easy...:Whistling:)

Mind you - the 19x20 Brembo is a bit stiff to use with these calipers - you radial MC will give a bit more feel...

:smooooth:
