How sad is this... the one broadcaster that couldn't give 2 monkeys about the fact that they have the rights for the PREMIER motorbiking class... equivalent to Formula 1 for cars, and they've bloody bought the rights again...FOR 5 MORE YEARS!!!
There is SOOOOOO much they could broadcast, 125's, 250's, MotoGP qualifying, but NO all we get is Suzi Perry and the dunces for half an hour of her flirting on the grid and the race...
THAT's NOT COVERAGE....THAT's PANDERING TO YOUR OFFICIAL OBLIGATIONS AS A PUBLIC BROADCASTER... if you don't care about the ruddy programming, let someone who does get hold of the rights you morons!

| You're right, I really should get that sorted... I just figure, there's enough distracting rubbish on the 5 terrestrial channels... so why bother getting another 30 channels of distracting rubbish for 1 event... I get it all through the online subscription to MotoGP already...
I just htink its really poor, cos ITV make a big thing of the WHOLE F1 weekend... and the BBC just kind of pay basic lip service... WHY pay for massive exclusivity deals and then leave your prize asset in the ether... being unwatched... it just makes NO SENSE!!!

| | Yep - BBCi broadcasts the other classes. I'm ok with suzi perry - and Steve Parrish would be ok if his voice wasn't so boring.Anyone who suggests he doesn't know what he's talking about is an idiot. That other moron should be skinned alive, though.

| He's a throwback to the 1990's..not cos that's when he rode... the WHOLE of the British broadcast media was utterly flooded with Aussie immigrants. Basically all the BBC staff that couldn't be fired cos of their unions and contracts were just WAAAAY too old... and way too inflexible, so the licence fee money was used to open up really really really bad pubs called things like "The Walkabout" and "The Outback" and stuff like that... when the doors were opened, the combination of "easy women", "lager and male testosterone body odour" and "cheap prices" floated round the world and acted like an enormous dinner bell for countless cheap but enthusiastic Australians... when they got here, they proved far keener and more willing to do jobs for virtually nothing and flooded the TV production industry and we were smitten by their lighthearted enthusiasm which was a far cry from our traditional home grown, rainy cynicism... before we knew it there were Aussies everywhere... including commentary boxes... eh voila.
He's actually a painter decorator from Adelaide.

| If someone though there was a commercial audience the BBC would lose any bidding war. Face it, the BBC have because no-one else wants it.

Well in a couple of years Toby you will not have the choice, the analagoue signals will be turned off. In fact one area has already lost its analogue signal.
