The Fuel injection light comes on for a moment when I turn the ignition to on. It goes off a few seconds later. I have read the manual that came with the bike but can find no mention of it in there. Is this normal? All the manual says is that if the FI light comes on there is a problem with the FI system.

Just like our Christmas tree, but then we don't have to ride it.

I think on most bikes most of the warning lights light up when the ignition is moved to the on position. They should all go out pretty much as soon as the bike is actually turned on

Ok thanks all. Thats great as it means I haven't broke it already It's the only light that comes on so stands out. I did think that perhaps it was normal for it to do that, but thought it best to check. Daughters bike doesn't have FI so no experience of it and Brothers bike's don't either so he is no help. All these new fangled ideas. Just put on to confuse us oldies. Daughters bike works without it so what's the advantages anyway? In fact Daughters Marauder start's better than mine and has a much nicer starting noise than mine NOT GOOD.

Is your bike brand new? New bikes tend to have fuel injection to make it easier to make them comply to emissions regulations.

F.I Light stands for Fault Indication Light, not Fuel Injection
