I believe now i have no choice but to first escalate this to the managing director of Yamaha UK and secondly to seek legal advice!!!

All this could've been avoiding if West London Yamaha did what they should've rather than feeding me with b/s from day one!!

OR MAYBE I JUST EXPECT TOO MUCH??!!

PMSL, no it's a different store but I've had the displeasure to have experienced said 'cheeky fella' in the sheperds bush road shop, it's called 'Motorcycle Store'.  Went in to enquire about a ne R1, dude behind the counter looked at me then continued f*****g about on a computer, I actually think he was playing solitaire!!!  Anyway after a couple of minutes of loud 'ahems' and even an 'excuse me mate' only to get the han wave in a minute gesture with no words I told him he'd just lost a bike sale, dude didn't even seem bothered.  Another member of staff was arguing with another customer at the time.  Charming.

This really is stunning, what a bunch of cowboys.... Looking at this, there would be no chance I'd buy a bike or send my bike to this lot after seeing this...and someone needs to tell them that they are losing potential business because word does get around!

I would be on the phone to the Managing Director of Yamaha UK, if you cant speak to him, just take the day off and rock up to his office and see him unannounced with print outs of the pics....  I'm sure that there is a way to get the MD's email address and you could email him....

I really do hope that someone from Yamaha UK see's this thread and that they open their eyes to the poor service that is being given by West London Yamaha, their attitude has been disgraceful and the constant lies about what has been done and when the bike is going to be ready is getting tedious now and as for their workshop, it is an absolute sham!!!

This is a very popular forum, lots of people read it and will see all this, West London Yamaha will lose lots of custom and people may even think twice about buying a Yamaha so come on West London Yamaha and Yamaha UK, pull your socks up and sort this out one way or the other

I know it doesnt help, +1 to Moores Apsley, Near Hemel Hempstead, Herts, maybe your next nearest dealer from WLY.  They are a Yammy main dealer.

The chaps in there have been there for years on the front desk, mid 30s in age, know all about their Yammies, and talk to you very openly and friendly, prepared to listen.

You can also see the repair room behind their counter and can see from where you stand bikes being rebuilt/built/or set up for newsales.

There are even brand new bikes stored neatly in pallets.  Looks organised.

Judging by the unprofessional way your engine parts have been stored I would be making a formal complaint to YUK (which is rather apt ) and be pushing for a replacement machine and compensation for loss of use and the aggrovation caused to you.

West London Yamaha? Wild West more like..... Yee-haar!!!!

Ill start my rant again!!!! DONT USE WLY, they are a bunch of hopeless idiots, Has John shouted at you yet? thats usually the first thing he does when he fails at customer service. Even if you do get the bike back, are you gonna feel safe to ride it when you know its be re-built by a tech eating pot noodles all over it?

Joke, its an absolute joke. Im sorry its happened to you mate, any other yam dealer would bend over backwards for you mate, especially when WLY have had such a massive slatting in the past by others you think that John and Shaun would do their best to keep face. I presume if John thinks its acceptable to shout at customers I can only imagine what he's like with yamaha leading my to presume they relationship is crap too.

Write to trading standards and copy in Yamaha and WLY stating that the bike is not fit for purpose and complain about the service WLY have given you.

Write to Yamaha and request it be pulled and threaten legal action and you would suggest they provided you with a machine of similar value and size or inform them your going to rent one and bill them back.

Also when I had a warranty problem on my bike I called black horse (my finance comany) I told them I was not going to pay whilst is was off the road. After a massive ding dong with them they contacted suzuki and all of a sudden my bike was fixed quick. Do you have finance? May be an idea to let them know whats going on as if you have technically its THIER bike not yours.

Good luck, if you need any help dont forget to hollar.

I have to admit i kept my gob shut for a change at the start of this because I gave WLY the benefit of the doubt as their hands are tied on warranty claims and as Sean said the top man from Japan had seen it.

However, after seeing the disgraceful way that your bike has been dismantled and left all over the shop R1cky, I don't blame you for wanting to kick some butts mate.

I hope you get this resolved soon and seriously consider Blue n White next time

Find out West London Yamaha's Company Registration number, it's a legal requirement to be on all their headed paperwork, VAT number and any other name they trade by or have done so in the past.

Same for West London Suzuki........ if you want to see if they are not part of the same outfit.

When you buy a new bike, who is legally providing the warranty ?  Is it the supplying dealer who you have a contract with or is it Yamaha UK ?  Maybe the dealer sells a warranty on behalf of the manufacturer . . . does make a difference to who you need to address your summons for loss of use, additional transport costs, rebuild etc.

I think you need to see a Solicitor, it's obvious that West London Yamaha are not in a position to rebuild it even if they had the staff, parts and wanted to, with the best will in the world it's not going to happen on a workshop floor with crap all over it like that.

Speak to White Dalton, they're dealing with my claim and are bikers themselves, will give you a 15 minute chat free anyway to put you in the picture, might save you a lot of money in the long run.

WHINGE, WHINGE ,WHINGE, THATS ALL YOU LOT DO.

LETS HAVE SOME CLARITY ON THIS MATTER SHALL WE.

THE BIKE IN QUESTION HAS BEEN AT THAT DEALERSHIP FOR JUST OVER 4 WEEKS, AND THE TW*T IN QUESTION HAS VERBALY ABUSED THE  STAFF PHYSICALY THREATENED THE STAFF, AND HAS THREATEND TO BRING LONDONBIKERS.COM DOWN HERE TO SORT THEM OUT.... WHAT A NICE FELLOW HE IS.

SO LETS GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT HE HAD AFTER MARKET PIPES ON HIS BIKE WHICH THEY DID NOT TELL YAMAHA, TO TRY AND HELP HIM OUT. IF THEY KNEW, HE COULD HAVE BEEN FACING A VERY HEFTY BILL FOR NEARLY FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS FOR AN ENGINE REBUILD AND LABOUR ...

THE PHOTOS HE HAS TAKEN ARE FROM THEIR TYRE STORE AREA AFTER A BIG DELIVERY, WHICH HE HAD NO RIGHT TO TAKE IN THE FIRST PLACE, THAT AREA INCLUDES PARTS FROM OLD JOB'S AND BROKEN ENGINE PARTS, INCLUDING SOME FROM HIS OLD ENGINE,AND THEY STORED HIS PANELS ON THE WALL TO KEEP THEM FROM HARMS WAY.

HIS NEW ENGINE IS BEING BUILT VERY PRECISELY BY SAM THERE TOP MECHANIC WHO I HAVE USED ON MY RACE BIKE'S FOR YEARS, AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER, HE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROFESSIONAL, AND I RESPECT HIS ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

THE REDICULOUS STORY OF RIDING ALONG AT FIFTY IN TOP GEAR WHEN THE ENGINE JUST LET GO IS TOTAL RUBBISH AND I Ask you to think about this. you know this pleb, do you honestly believe he rides an R1 at fifty in top gear...

YAMAHA WHERE SO SHOCKED AT THIS ENGINE FAILURE THAT THEY SENT MR YAMAHA JAPAN (DONT KNOW HIS NAME SORRY)  DOWN TO INSPECT THE ENGINE THIS SET THE DEALERSHIP BACK BY A WEEK.

THE REASON I WRITE THIS IS THAT YOU PEOPLE, THAT SIT AROUND WITH NOTHING BETTER TO DO BUT WHINGE, DRIVE ME MAD. YOU SHOULD BE MORE AWARE OF YOUR ACTIONS.AND GIVE PEOPLE A CHANCE THIS DEALERSHIP THAT YOUR SO QUICK TO SLAM, HAS PROBABLY HELPED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT ARE SATISFIED AND HAPPY.

Faster than you, are you the customer service manager for the west london group PMSL

As side from this guys bike and why and where it broke down I think his main gripe is the lack of communication between customer and dealer, something we have all had the pleasure of getting when visiting your stores. Maybe you should take note of the various complaints made about these stores and take action to rectify them and improve your service rather than calling your customers PLEBS and aqccusing them of deliberatly blowing up their bikes.

Im sure this is one of the reasons why your customers feel so hacked of with the service you and your stores give and threaten to bring this to public attention.

If you just improved your customer service, the ability to keep in touch with your paying clients and keep them informed that would make the world of differance, Instead you shout at your customers, call them names and come out with some stupid crap and to top it all off you keep customers bikes for endless amounts of time without telling them whats going on. I have expericned this, my friends have, this guy has so why not improve?

I have just finished drafting my letter to yamaha UK about my little incident and Im sure others will follow.

SO BEFORE YOU ALL JUMP ON THE BAND WAGON GET THE FULL PICTURE...

THE THREAT OF THE LONDONBIKERS.COM IS WEARING THIN WITH MOST DEALERSHIPS THAT I KNOW, I AM SURE.

SO GET A GRIP AND GROW UP FROM FASTERTHANYOU.....

Thank you Jason (accessory guy @ WLY) for your kind words. Feel free to tell me in person next time i'm at the dealership

Maybe you should be a little bit more precise with your "facts" as the above is untrue!

R1cky? Care to comment. The bike has been with WLY since 10/6/2008, As far as verbally abusing staff this is untrue, I have been calm throughout, and also have never physically threaten any staff

R1cky, again please. I never claimed i was doing 50 mph, i have always said i was travelling at 85mph in 6th gear,

You have had plenty of time to redeem yourselves but have chosen not too!! Isn't understandable that i'm a little frustrated after my bike being with you for nearly 6 weeks when really this process should've taken 2 weeks max!!

Thanks for pidgeon holeing us, some of us do actually ride plenty of miles not just for pleasure.

THE THREAT OF THE LONDONBIKERS.COM IS WEARING THIN WITH MOST DEALERSHIPS THAT I KNOW, I AM SURE.

SO GET A GRIP AND GROW UP FROM FASTERTHANYOU.....

Do you know this for sure or are you just speculating .

Really can't see why you are getting involved Jason (West London Yamaha accessory guy)

Just be careful what you say on a public forum as slander is very dangerous!!!
