Just got a job in London and I'll be joining the city in two weeks at the beginning of April. I might get my arse down to the Ace Café on April 5th, it's something I've been meaning to do for awhile but as I'm not in London I've never been bothered.

Looking forward to it!

I ride a Yamaha Fazer FS600 2002. Nice machine, nothing flashy but it still rides smooth and fast. I love riding to bits and I like to think I'll always own a motorcycle.

Been to one meet late last year and planning on being a regular this year....

hey im new to the site. I've been spending a lot of time looking around on the net for a bike, bit difficult as I'm currently 15 and lookin to get a bike shortly after my 16th. :D

I got directed to this site and seen a lot of people seem to know what theyre talking bout so thought id join and ask for some tips as to getting a good, ideal, geared bike??

Just went to leave work and bang! my bike has been stolen off the loading bay
it's a black 2007 model with Carbon, rad covers, front guard, side panels, belly pan, it has a one off racefit low pipe (very loud and possibly the only one in exsistance) and it has a rekluse clutch.
it was stolen from Goswell road in central london between 3:30 and 5pm if you see it or hear it! let me know.

If you are new to Londonbikers and would like to get to know some of our members, we hold Newbie Night on the first Monday of every month at the Ace Café. This is the ideal time to come, have a cuppa and say hello. Existing Lber's will be there to say "Hi" and introduce you to others. Everyone is welcome.

We'll be easy to spot.

When & Where?

The 1^st Monday of every month will be Newbie night from 6pm. So this goes as follows for 2010:

I am a female studying motorbike mechanics at college at the moment, and I love motorbikes despite not having one myself (yet). If I had the money, I'd have a bike tomorrow please!

Did anyone miss me? Thought not :P

After being bikeless for about a year (well I've had the bike, but it's been exhaust-less and I'm not riding the dragstar - anyone want to buy one??? It's in great condition!) I'm hoping to be back out and about this summer. The exhaust has a shiny new stainless fitment welded on, so it should now get through an MOT and I've had the op on my wrist, so keep an eye out for the loony (not my word) on the black and silver nc30 again.

Oh and if you see a little green peugeot 106 stuck in traffic and notice it has an LB sticker on the back - give me a wave - it's ever so lonely seeing all the bikers filtering past (but my baby doesn't like the traffic so the pugmobile is currently the answer)! :hehe:

Passed CBT got a vespa LX125

Im new to biking passed my cbt and got a vespa LX.

What a would like is some road advice. Im still a bit stiff on the bike and apprehensive on roads.

Has anyone had experience of this and did practicing down quieter roads help this.

Hi. I was introduced to the forum by a friend when I was looking for a bike, and have ended up with Perkz's Triumph S4, which I am over the moon with.

Been skulking around a bit since so thought I'd make the effort and say hi.

There's the young lady (looking very yellow due to the light, it's orange), David who sold it to me hasn't yet told me of an existing name (feel free if there is one!) so it might be 'Summer' until better is thought of.

Just wish the weather wasn't so damn dire and I could stretch its legs a little more, I havent yet managed to get out on a dry day!

Anyhow, thanks to the forum as a awhole for providing the source, thanks to Perkz for the bike and will keep on looking around

me...i am from Chicago! The Windy City! :) i got tired of our very humid hot annoying summer and bitter cold winter (colder than the Artic Circle that's for sure and I've been there!!) so i moved to Southern California and lived there for 7.5 years. then got bored of the 360 days of sunshine, blue sky, and perfect weather, now (and not sure for how long) i am here in London :P i have yet to experience the depressing dark clouds, gloomy and rainy weather for..how long is it? :)

...well probably at least 6 months. Which has seen me through five and a half months of riding a scooter and two fantastic weeks of riding my new Yamaha XJ6 N :)

Firstly, thank you to all that contribute here for the invaluable advice I have received through reading countless posts over the last few months.

Saddle bags for Cruisers

Hi, I've got a Yammy XVS 250 Dragstar (04), I was searching the net for a luggage rack so I could carry my 2 mtr chain around with me which weights 9.78 kilos but to my surprise ALL the racks stated 5 kilo max weight, so after all that searching I've decided it was a waste of time so now I'm thinking along the lines of saddle bags, I don't want to get trapped into bying the bars then find I have to buy there sadlle bags as others wont fit then be charged a fortune, how does it work? :unsure:

Please don't suggest (as other have) carrying it around my shoulders as at that weight after a while it'll get too heavy & the ride won't be comfy & I consider it too dangerous if you come off. :crazy:

What stops the saddle bags from swinging out as you turn? Do you have to buy the bars? :ermm:

Do the bars stop the bags from hitting the wheel & swinging out? :unsure:

Help very welcome & appreciated, very much so! :discuss:

Newbie to London

Hey all,

Been lurking on here a while but just thought I'd put in my first post.

I just arrived in London about 2 weeks ago from Sydney and I'll be staying here for a while.

I had to sell my beloved ZXR250 back home but I hope to get back into riding again. I've been thinking about getting a cheap CB500 and add on a top box, panniers, and screen so me and the missus can do a bit of touring around the UK. Either that or an old BMW tourer. I know where to find the bikes, however, I've got no idea which places are good to check out motorbike gear and luggage over here. Back in Sydney there we've got MCAS which is basically a one stop warehouse with probably the cheapest prices around. Anything like that here in London?

Anyway, "Hi" again and hope to see you all around once I purchase my ride and gear.

Joined yesterday, after hanging around, as a guest, for a while. Bit of time on hands due to having man-'flu, kids not on the computer, so here I am.:D Live in Luton, work in Wembley, so often pop into Ace, either on bike whilst working (Instructor) or in car (My car club meets there too). The Ace sausages and Mash gets ordered every time!

So card is behind the virtual bar, have a hello drink on me, look forward to meeting up, maybe on a newbie night.

In short I've been going to the ace since I was 15 and I'm going to turn 23 this year so I have met most of the people for the sight at some point or another. This is my final atempt to make a post as I have tried many times before with no luck. Anyway Ill see some of you down the ace.

Oh yea I'm Sean and I used to ride a red Hornet 900 I got knocked off that in december and now im on a CBR600rr on an 06 plate bright blue.
