OK, it`s definately on for this Sunday, checked the weather and all is good.

Beautiful scenery, lovely roads and an opportunity to commune with your ancestors.

Leaving the Ace at 10am. Bit of a thrash down the M3 then Winchester, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Salisbury Plain, Devises, Avebury, Marlborough, Hungerford, gorgeous road to Wantage, Goring, Henley on Thames and back to the Ace.

Is this a fast one? Are we sticking to the speed limits? Can anyone come?

Yes to the last one, can`t comment on the other two.

The "offsiding rule" will be strictly observed.

Ho Ho Ho,

Well here we are again, just a few weeks until Christmas, soon all of the madness will begin and we will all be busy preparing for huge dinners and shopping for gifts for our loved ones.

I would like to propose a ride out with a difference,
The Little Haven's Hospice in Essex, is a special place that cares for very ill children, and gives them a more comfortable life.
Often, the children that stay at Little Haven's are there for just a short while before the illness takes them.
Little Haven's really makes the difference to the children and to their parents at this very difficult time in life and gives some comfort in a crazy world.

I would like to propose a ride in aid of Little Haven's, and I ask that you bring a new toy, wrapped and marked with girl or boy and the age.
We will ride to the hospice and deliver these toys in person and bring some smiles to the children this Christmas.

The ride details:

Meet at Thurrock Services car park, with your toy or donation at 11:30am Saturday 13th December 2008.
At 12:00 hours we will then ride to Little Haven's Hospice in Rayleigh to deliver in person.

Little Haven's have asked that we buy 'creative' or 'make and do' type toys.

Tea and coffee will be available at the hospice, and wrap up warm!

Too many busy weekends of late have made it impossible to get more miles under my belt. I'm not working on Friday and was hoping to get in a day trip before friends arrive from Spain for the weekend. I don't really know routes around here and am open to suggestions! :w00t:

North Wales Weekend #2

It's that time again where Mark and I have itchy feet and need to get back to Wales. After the April weekend away went so well we've decided to do it again in October but for four days this time, as you can see the list is full already.

We will be staying in Mid Wales at a great biker friendly B&B, safe for all our bikes, all our three course evening meals as well as breakfast is included in this weekend price, and most importantly they have a bar there!!! Weekend price (3 nights) inc meals is £144.00 each.

We will be riding up on the Friday morning, early, stopping at various places along route, NO motorways! Roughly 250 miles. Saturday we have a great route mapped out (tried & tested) it covers approx 150 miles, lots of sight seeing, bring your bucket and spades as we will be stopping at the coast. Sunday we will ride up to Snowdon and take the train to the top (this needs to be pre-booked), then continue along more of the lovely twisties. Monday will be another day enjoying the scenery whilst making our way back home. There is just so much to see and do we never have enough time that’s why we’ve done so many trips this year. If you feel you want to do your own sight seeing and visit places that interest you, you are more than welcome to come and go as you please but be back at the B&B in time to join the rest of us for dinner. Maps & directions will be given to everyone so no one will get lost, we’ll have meeting points along route and planned fuel stops.

The Corner Man system will only be used if the group gets split, those who went in April know what I mean as we never needed to do this, there was only a couple of times where we dropped off at iffy points otherwise the group managed to stay together with JimC being our tail gunner. It worked 100%, hats off to everyone on the last trip.

Wanted two more " loons " to make up a team of 5 to do a five hour race on a 125 Stomp pit bikes at Lydd Race Track.

The race is on Sunday 16 November 2008 its £300.00 per team, and that includes the bike hire so if we get five of us its only £60.00 EACH They supply the brand new bike which we have to build and get scruttinised by the clock ?????????

The track is Lydd race track in Kent and its 80 % tarmac with a jump and a few corners on the muddy stuff!!!!!!

All are welcome to come along and watch OR contact the people at Stomp Racing and get your own team !!!!! its ONLY £300 for a team and you can have as many people as you want !!!

Norfolk Rideout II - Flatout Special

Long overdue I feel......

But on the great success of last years ride to Hunstanton Norfolk, its on again Sunday 21st September Just shy of 300 miles of great "brisk riding" we will be taking pretty much the same route although I may deviate slightly, The ride will be for all riders regardless of skill or speeds although not suitable for any L platers as it will include six miles of motorway that is pretty much unavoidible- thats six each way

there will be two meet points the 1st being the ace cafe we will be out of there 9am on the dot second meet point for north londeners and people from the burbs will be the Tesco,s on the A10 heading out of london, as this is a safer meet than a bus stop this second meet will be just to pick up the riders and not a social.....

Hunstanton is a traditional british seaside cold windy and full of Oap's but sundays it gets full of bikes and thats every sunday all year round more so if its dry and sunny, there is a little cafe/stroke shed open on the front for a hot cuppa and a few chippys that will all be in full trade there is not much else there.

But this one is more about the ride then the destination. So to make up for lack of rides this is the big one to enjoy and stretch your bikes legs so to speak, we can hang about in Hunstanton for a few hours then back to the Ace, Cornerman will be inplace throughout the whole ride there and back so you wont get left behind if you dont understand what the cornerman is it will be explained on the day.

I must stress this is not a race if you want to ride like an arsehole then do your own ride and call it the "riding like an arsehole ride" i have done many LB rides without incident this one wants to be no different for everyones enjoyment. Ride there, have a laugh ride back, enjoy the day.....

may need a few volunteers for sweepers tail gunner etc if my ususal gunner doesnt want to do it!!

Borough Market!

It's a cracking part of town, a stone's throw from our previous summer venue at the Cubana and couldn't be any more bang in the middle of London if we'd have tried. It's a load better than previous venues, but might not look it in the photos, it's one of those venue's that just 'feels' right. You'll have to be there to understand.It's got so much character and is so 'London' that we fell in love with it straight away. I knew Id find something good about Stevenage...

Every year they spend an absolute BOMB on fireworks! (pun intended)... There's a fairground and snack places and its held at the side of the river...

Last year we had a good group of about 15 of us who trekked over there. It's accessible from my house and we have plenty of bike (and car/van) parking... Plus Im a dab hand at jacket potatos and various party entertainments ;)

It's a Wednesday this year. Would anyone like to come?

Hi all,

Ride on Sat 18th October. Meet at my house Hitchin Herts (pm me for post code) for 10.00 OR The KTM Centre in Hemel Hempstead HP3 9AJ for 11.00. ( Jason does great coffee and IF we get enough of us he will even sort out a breakfast as well !!!! )

The plan is then a cross country ride ( tarmac ) across great roads in Herts to the Silver Ball Cafe in Cambridgeshire . spot of lunch then take it from there ????

As the breakfast thing is down to numbers and the shop will need to book the food I will need to give them a rough total SO let me know who is coming .

"Thanks to Ginger's, and other's hard work, Londonbikers.com is pleased to announce a change in day for the Newbie Night at The Ace Cafe.

This will now be run on the first Sunday of the Month starting:

Sunday 2nd March from 6:00pm.

Newbie night is an ideal oppurtunity for new members to come down and say hello but all existing members are welcome too. We have tables reserved for us from 6:00pm and and area of parking set aside - just look out for the banner and of course Ginger!

We have new members joining every day & one way to bring them into the community of LB is Newbie Night.

This is held at the Ace Café on the North Circular (A406) Near Stonebridge Park Station.

We meet on the first Sunday of every month, this year we even met on New Years Day!

This meeting enables the Newbies on the forum to meet other newbies & even some oldies.

and that with winter coming on us fast, standing wet in the cold is not going to be as fun as it sound over the next few months.

It seems that we are pushed further and further down the road, all affordable food supply is like a mile away (feels like it when it rains) and there is nowhere to sit an warm up...

Anyone has an idea where we could meet up

BM was supposed to be the new Spring/Summer meeting place but since winter came and gone and no change.

I for one did not go in the cold of last winter and will not either this year...

It's meant to be a surprise, so I have pm'ed a few of you beforehand but this is just a reminder. I'm hoping he won't read this! I doubt he'll be on before next week! :hehe:

It was his 23rd on Tuesday, so I figured we should all go eat chinese!

So the plan is to meet up at the ace about 7pm - 7.30pm Friday then head over to the park royal all you can eat chinese, just off the A40 at/for 8pm ish. Then eat as much as we can :w00t: and go for a ride or something afterwards.

Hi,

Sunday 27th Sept - weather looks great!

Just want to gauge interest in a Sunday ride out - starting at the Ace Cafe, may go Box Hill pick up others, then run along the A272 for a while, taking whatever route I can make up at the time.

Probably not best suited to many riders, as route not Tom Tom'd, it's in my head.

Was thinking of popping in to see 2 Strokes on the route - see some lovely examples of 2 stroke bikes.

Hey all I moved up to Sandy in Beds early this year and being so busy I have not had time to explore, can anyone recommend any B roads, I am starting to think I might just get lost one day when I have the time, other wise a good B/A road that I can get to and blast along for an hour or 2 as that is about as much time I get a week to myself.

I got twat nav so I can find it easy.
