Some absolute idiot in a sports car overtook me this evening on the A267 (South of Tunbridge Wells) at around 80mph then hit a deer that stood little chance. The twat was in a small orange sports car, something like an MG, and it must have completely mashed the front of this car . . . but he drove off, and at speed!!!!

I was left to carry a badly injured but still alive and very much kicking BIG deer out of the oncoming carriageway on a very dark but very busy country-road. It was so injured it couldn't stand AND ALL BUT ONE DRIVER JUST DROVE PAST WATCHING ME TRY A LIFT A FLAILING DEER.

Please don't think I'm posting this to get a hero's badge. I'm shaking and very angry both at the idiot that was travelling way to fast for the road conditions tonight and who sped off and to all the people that watched me struggle. If a bike (or perhaps a car) had come the other way and hit the deer it could have been very, very nasty yet all the drivers just carried on their merry way. Big thanks to the chap from Brighton who stopped and helped me get it the last few feet to the grass verge. Unfortunately it died while I waited for the police. I hate anything dying, particularly in that level of obvious agony.

I had to Rant to someone . . . Rant now over.

Jesus, dude.

At least you and the other chap did the right thing. The guy that drove off, though - what a tool. At least you can console yourself with the fact that his repair bill will probably be very, very large.

Sounds very dodgy, why would anybody speed away from something like that?
Crazy world we live in.

its just the way pople are, watching from a distance expecting someone else to help...sometimes it fear/shock, not knowing what to do in a situation and somethimes its just a case of cant be bothered. its the people with the latter attitude that are sh/t heads.

the guy dirivng the car probably didnt realise the full extent of the damage done to his car ,not to say he would have stopped even if he did, but im sure hes gonna get the nasty suprise he deserves when he next time he gets out of it.

glad it wasnt you that hit the deer , and well done for gettin it out of the road.
