Right well i'll start from the beginning i suppose.

the best part of a year and a 1/2 ago i was looking for insurance for a 125 moped for work.
MCE came up very cheap compare to other company's, and i couldn't see a reason not to choose them so i took out a policy with them.

3/4 of a year later i sold the scooter and bought a Aprilia RS125 (geared bike).
I phoned up MCE to change the bike on the policy over and was told that's not possible, im on a scooter policy
that was news to me, not once had i been told that and there was no mention on a 'scooter policy' on any documents supplied from them.
i was told i would have to take out a new policy for the rs125, doing this would lose the 3/4years No Claims that had been building up on the policy,
So having no choice, the 'scooter policy' was cancelled and a new policy taken out.

Around 3/4 of a year down the line (last week lol), the Aprilia was sold and a more suitable bike for commuting was bought, an SV650S.

Once again, i phone up MCE to change the bike over to the policy.
To be told;
im sorry that's not possible, your on a '125 policy'.
sorry but WHAT THE F**K IS A 125 POLICY???????

only option being to cancel the RS125 policy and take out a new policy for the SV.
once again, no mention of this '125 policy' to me prior to this conversation and no documents stating this either.

I proceeded to explain this situation to multiple members of the MCE staff, stating that this has now happened twice and is not expectable.
Every member of staff had no interest in the situation, no will to help what so ever.
with the repeated phrase 'im sorry there's nothing i can do, our system wont let me'.

So i've cancelled the policy with them and gone with H&R as recommend by the good folk at LB.

So in a summary 1 1/2years No claims down the drain no fault of mine, with not an ounce of care from the staff at MCE

BIG BIG SHAME!

That's a pity to hear.

I'm with MCE and although they usually take ages to answer the phone, I've found them very helpful once talking to them.

My Hornet 600 was swapped for my Varadero 125 with no increase in premium when I passed my test!

Just imagine if you're insured with MCE and you have a Yamaha from West London Yamaha and have to park in Westminster . . . you'd be one seriously unhappy chap

This is it ?  Yep, that's it.  What happened to the rest ?

man I'm with bennetts had a scooter upgraded to a 500 and they had no issue with that at all, on top of that the insurance was only £6 more as well.
