| Hey everyone,
I'm hoping to be riding soon if I pass my Direct Access in November, after fluffing up the first attempt (damn u-turn!)! 
Haven't got a bike yet but hoping to be getting a nice second-hand Bandit 600 mainly to get me from home to work and back again (live in Hayes, work in Slough).
Completely new to the whole bike scene but I'm sure I'll pick up some nice info from reading these forums. (My brother is a member and guided me here.)

| | i had problems with doing my U turns... but on the test i worked out the slower the more control i had, but that may be just me... good luck oh and Welcome to LB
I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN UP CLASS A DRUGS INSTEAD, THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN CHEAPER AND LESS ADDICTIVE THAN BIKES !!

| Hehe, thanks for the words of encouragement!
The examiner told me after that if it hadn't been for the u-turn, it would have been a very comfortable pass, so I was at least able to take that away from the first test!
My u-turns are hit-and-miss - sometimes I can do them just fine, other times I bottle it when I get passed the camber in the road and am moving towards the curb! When I go for some refresher training the days before the test I'm going to insist on trying quite a few of them!! |
