| | I have a place on this year's Cannonball Bike Run which takes place in Africa starting on 2nd October 2008. Unfortunately following a recent change in job, I now cannot go. The cost of the place is £1,999, but I am open to sensible offers. The ticket price includes transportation of your bike and all your food and accommodation (in at least 5 star hotels). There is the possibility to hire a bike if you don't want to take your own. The only extra cost is your flight to Malaga to meet the rest of the runners and your bike! I have confirmed with the organisers that I can sell my place on. Full details of the event can be found at www.cannonballbikerun.com If you're interested or would like to discuss things further, pleas call me on 07939407950. Cheers, Nick |

| | A mate of mine went last year and along with 6 others got stopped and had their bikes impounded in switzerland. Still not got them back............not very optermistic about ever seeing his K5 Thou ever again. Weeks Cannonball and it would have cost him about £11k in fuel fines and bike............ You can keep your ticket, thanks for the offer.

| | I am sorry but why would the Swiss police take British bikes?? Unless they were committing a criminal offence? like for example going way way over the speed limit or using radar detectors/scramblers?? |

| I take it your not familiar with the event!!!
The point was that this was over a year ago and still no news whether they getting them back. Yes speeding was the reason but to take so long to resolve the issue is just madness. Imagine the next time you get caught for speeding any the police take your bike and leave it a year or longer with the threat of crushing it. You'd be pissed I bet.

| well then, better strap some radar detectors and scramblers on them bikes
I would do it if I had the cash lying around.... and yeah I know they can take your vehicle but usually it is only under very bad offences, isn't it heavy cash fine on the spot that happens?
Quick question... if this takes palce in Morocco... wouldn't that mean the Swiss police can stuff it??? as they won't get **** this year? Plus reading on website it seems the Local Police is actually providing escorts and not giving you a hard time... |

| | True Swiss Police have nothing to do this year but that still doesn't help those from last years run get their bikes back.... As for the local police escorting the run this year kinda defeats the object surely, otherwise its just a glorified ride out, seems like a lot of money for that and a few party's.........
