SBK08 : Virtual Reality or just Reality
02 July 2008 | 3 Comments
It’s Sunday morning and the glint from the sun outside bursts through your motorhome curtains. It’s a lovely sunny day, with a gentle breeze, perfect weather for popping down to the coast, but you can’t think about that today, no you’ve got work to do. You roll out of bed, and head for the shower. Half an hour later after a light high protein breakfast, you are pulling on your leathers and following your strict routine to make sure that you don’t incur any bad luck through the morning warm up.

MotoGP The Season So Far - Pulling No Punches
03 June 2008 | 7 Comments
The say that sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind, well we’ve reached the 1/3 stage in the MotoGP championship and with silly season just around the corner, I’m going to be brutally honest in my report of the season so far and give my opinion on possible rumours and possible team changes for 2009. Yes I know we’re only six races in but believe me, there are already backstage murmurs of rider changes and contract negotiations taking place in the paddock.

Simply Baylisstic
30 April 2008 | 2 Comments
I’d like to take some time to write about one of the greatest riders of the modern era. Troy Bayliss has proved to the world that your talent has nothing to do with your age. Bayliss has ridden against and beaten the best and he’s done it all with a cheeky smile and razor sharp wit. Troy, who is now 39 years old has decided to retire after the season is complete, hopefully with a third World Superbike title to his name, which he will have taken on three different generations of Ducati.

World Supersport : Can it get any better than this?
29 April 2008
World Supersport has on numerous occasions provided the world with jaw dropping, edge of the seat racing and Sunday proved to be no exception. For the fans that travelled to the cathedral of speed at Assen in Holland they witnessed one of the truly great World Supersport races. Johnny Rea managed to grab the whole shot from his grid slot of second place leading the field into Assen’s tight first corner, which becomes even tighter when you’re trying to fit thirty six supersport machines through it. The Supersport class has affectionately been named the class of the axe murderers. This name has mainly come about because the class is made up of a mixture of up and coming stars and veterans who are trying to make a comeback, because of this no quarter is given between anyone, not even team mates, it’s quite normal to see team mates clashing fairings and elbows in an attempt to battle their way through to the front of this highly competitive field.

If you have been watching British Superbikes this season, then you would have definitely noticed Rizla Suzuki rookie Cal Crutchlow giving it his all. John Hopkins, Back In The UK For The British GP!
24 June 2007
John Hopkins got his first MotoGP podium with a third place in China earlier in the season, and that had been a long time coming. The 24 year old Anglo-American has had a tumultuous time over the past five seasons in MotoGP, struggling with the development of the four-stroke Suzuki GSV-R and battling with personal injury. He scored more points last year than any other Suzuki rider in the 990cc era, which made it his best season to date.

21 September 2006
MotoGP technology in BSB, surely not! Well that’s what seems to be going on. We heard about the Fuel Cell bikes that Rizla Suzuki has been using in BSB. There seem to be many benefits to using Fuel Cell, from weight distribution, better handling, confining the components to a more centralised smaller space, holding more fuel to just saving money. Intrigued by the concept behind it, we went to Croft Circuit to meet Rizla Suzuki’s Crew Chief and Technical Development Manager Stewart Johnstone. We just simply had to go and find out more…

Rods 2002 DRZ400S (Pro-Enduro)
08 June 2006
The DRZ400S is amazing fun. No matter what you ride the bike will have you grinning from ear to ear and entice you to pull wheelies down the crowded high street and get 'air' off the table tops at your local MX/Enduro track. Find out how Rod built his pro-enduro DRZ.

Rods GSX-R Track Bike
08 June 2006
Whilst this bike is fully road legal (well almost), I've set it up and completed all modifications around use on the race track and fast road riding on the twisties where it's truly in it's element (and where it is used most).

GSXR 750 K4 Modifications
08 June 2006
Like most bikers, when the K4 750 was bought, I had every intention of keeping modifications to a minimum as so not to get carried away with spending money on something I probably won't get a full return on...
