Dr. Phillips - the Helmet Revolutionary
25 January 2010
In some circles, a new technology which shakes the accepted order of things is welcomed by a few people and viewed with contempt by others. One such technology, PHPS - Phillips Helmets Protection System, is incorporated in the Superskin line of helmets being released by Lazer. Could it be possible that Superskin lids will change the helmet world?

Scorpion Helmet Review
14 January 2010
Whilst wandering the Dirt Bike Show this year I was accosted by a PR lady who wanted Londonbikers.com to get to know the Scorpion product range and I immediately jumped at the chance after spending the race season watching Dave Wood winning the KTM RC8 cup while wearing a Scorpion helmet. Most bikers respond with “Eh?” or “is that the one with the inflatable bit?” when asked about them, so it is definitely about time Londonbikers.com brought the capital’s attention to them.

A Tale of Three Lids
23 November 2009
Helmets are always a bit of an enigma to buy as their main role is one you can’t judge particularly well when you buy. I’ve recently gone through the process myself and now Londonbikers.com has been offered the chance to review a couple of additional lids so I will give you my thoughts on them.

TCX Pro 2 boots - The right tools for the job
16 October 2009
When I finally settled on the choice for my next bike, after an accident left me with a broken foot, the first thing I thought of to accompany the purchase of the bike was a new pair of boots. If only I could get back the confidence I lost! The TCX Pro 2s have helped me regain a fair amount though.

Hein Gericke Tricky III Textile Suit Review
15 July 2009
All weather suits? No thank you. Or at least that’s what I’ve thought for many years since my last expensive and very disappointing time with a 'top of the line' suit from a leading Italian brand (begins with 'D') and frankly I’d become a little set in my ways - thinking a leather suit with a waterproof over-suit in the bike storage would be all I’d need.

Talking Leather Suits with arc-on Leathers
29 May 2009
Buying leathers is easy isn’t it? Just check out some magazine articles and nip down to the nearest bike shop to, ahem, finger the goods. Then slip a set on and if the price is right, bosh the deal is done.

The Rev'It! Ladies Pearl Textile Jacket
26 April 2009
There was a time when as a woman if you wanted biking gear you ended up getting mens clothes in small sizes. Thankfully those days are long gone and we live in a world where bike clothing manufacturers have realised that women deserve good quality kit just as much as the boys do. It’s about time.

The REV'IT! Replica One-Piece Leather Suit & Stealth Gloves
30 June 2008
REV'IT! have provided us with one of their top-range suits, the Replica which is as it sounds is a replica of the MotoGP suit that Honda's Randy de Puniet wears whist racing around the worlds circuits at over 200mph each week. Notably, Karl 'Bomber' Harris also wears the suit in the brilliant BSB series, and as you should know, has put it through its paces with a number of cringe-worth crashes. One involving being hit by a flying bike at over 100mph. I'm thinking that if it's good enough for Randy to walk away from his crash at Catalunya last weekend and Karl's experiences, then it's good enough for me.

The REV'IT! Typhoon Summer Textile Jacket
17 April 2008
We take a look at the light REV'IT! Typhoon summer textile jacket... Spring’s here and on and off for a while now, we’ve seen glimpses of what summer is like again. It seems that every winter I lose touch with just how good riding a bike in London during the summer is. That feeling you get that draws you outside, puts a smile on your face and encourages you to go for a ride, enjoying flying around town, meeting friends and slipping through traffic.

The Nolan X-LITE X801RR Helmet
17 March 2008
Lurking in the shadows of the familiar names of Arai and Shoei, Nolan X-lite has quietly protected the heads of both the 250GP and MotoGP world champions. X-lite have been producing high quality and innovative helmets for some time, while working in the retail end of the industry I became aware of the X-lite X901. I don’t think we sold one, this wasn’t because it is a bad helmet, it is however slightly odd looking thanks to its innovative aerodynamic design. Although the X901 was exceptionally stable at speed and light we all tend to stick to what we know and so the big two continued to dominate.

Rhino Protect Review
09 May 2007
It didn’t take long for Phil to finish doing the rest of the front during which time I looked around at all the very nice high performance cars in the workshop one of which was a Pagani Zonda. Most of it was covered over but the rear was all exposed where the gearbox had been removed as it was having a new clutch fitted. After looking around and taking a few photos of the Zonda and other cars I went back over to Phil as he was finishing off the front of the bike.

Arai Or Not Arai... That's The Question!!
14 March 2007
Which helmet to choose? Now there’s a good question… Whether you’re new to biking, or a veteran to the game, this is something that we must all take seriously, as safety is not a laughing matter! There are so many makes on the market that it’s hard to make the right decision on which is going to be the best value for money and the safest. Our resident trouble maker and employee of Infinity Motorcycles, Great Portland Street, BabyJ, gives us the low-down on his personal experience with Arai…

Hein Gericke Winter Suit
19 February 2006
Tired of having a plastic waterproof jacket and trousers stored in the helmet compartment of my scooter and having to stop to put them on at every sight of rain, I decided to buy a two peace waterproof outfit. LB conducts its first long-term test.
