Scorpion Helmet Review
14 January 2010
Whilst wandering the Dirt Bike Show this year I was accosted by a PR lady who wanted Londonbikers.com to get to know the Scorpion product range and I immediately jumped at the chance after spending the race season watching Dave Wood winning the KTM RC8 cup while wearing a Scorpion helmet. Most bikers respond with “Eh?” or “is that the one with the inflatable bit?” when asked about them, so it is definitely about time Londonbikers.com brought the capital’s attention to them.

A Tale of Three Lids
23 November 2009
Helmets are always a bit of an enigma to buy as their main role is one you can’t judge particularly well when you buy. I’ve recently gone through the process myself and now Londonbikers.com has been offered the chance to review a couple of additional lids so I will give you my thoughts on them.

17 November 2009
When I was asked if I would like to review this seasons BSB DVD I jumped at the chance. Being a huge fan of anything motorsport related especially the 2 wheeled variety I was definitely looking forward to it. So I enrolled a friend along to share in the enjoyment. The only problem we found was finding the 5 hours needed to watch the whole thing!!

Scottoiler - A Maintenance Free Chain?
06 November 2009
It wasn't until I got my first manual bike that I had even considered any form of bike maintenance other than washing it. When warmer weather came, I took pride in cleaning and maintenance of my beloved 125; this included lubricating the drive chain which I quickly became accustomed to doing regularly. I had heard of the Scottoiler automatic lubrication system, but had considered that it wasn't for me.

GIpro X-Type Gear Indicator Review
19 July 2009
The GIpro X-Type is a new gear indicator from Healtech. Unlike other products on the market it reads the gear position information directly from the ECU and the speedo sensor, with only two connections and no programing. This makes setup faster and the gear indications more reliable. It also come with two added features the optimum RPM for gear change and the excess speed warning.

29 May 2009
Buying leathers is easy isn’t it? Just check out some magazine articles and nip down to the nearest bike shop to, ahem, finger the goods. Then slip a set on and if the price is right, bosh the deal is done.

Sat Nav on Your Bike - It's So Easy!
20 May 2009
This simple answer to the problem of using a Sat Nav/GPS on a bike is something that many people have found their own way of working out, but until the So Easy Rider, I hadn't seen such an elegant, practical solution.

Zuru Link Straps - The New Bungee?
28 April 2009
My first thought when I saw these straps was "they look interesting but I'm not to sure about that colour", then on further inspection it was clear a fair bit of thought had gone into producing an innovative alternative form of tie-down straps. Could they replace the ubiquitous bungee strap? Looking eye-catching and promising no more painful twanging or scratched panels sounds good, but how well they actually work is the most important thing.

The Rev'It! Ladies Pearl Textile Jacket
26 April 2009
There was a time when as a woman if you wanted biking gear you ended up getting mens clothes in small sizes. Thankfully those days are long gone and we live in a world where bike clothing manufacturers have realised that women deserve good quality kit just as much as the boys do. It’s about time.

The REV'IT! Replica One-Piece Leather Suit & Stealth Gloves
30 June 2008
REV'IT! have provided us with one of their top-range suits, the Replica which is as it sounds is a replica of the MotoGP suit that Honda's Randy de Puniet wears whist racing around the worlds circuits at over 200mph each week. Notably, Karl 'Bomber' Harris also wears the suit in the brilliant BSB series, and as you should know, has put it through its paces with a number of cringe-worth crashes. One involving being hit by a flying bike at over 100mph. I'm thinking that if it's good enough for Randy to walk away from his crash at Catalunya last weekend and Karl's experiences, then it's good enough for me.

Michelin Launch the Anakee 2
12 May 2008
Nick Sanders, Ewan McGregor, Charlie Boorman, its all their fault. Showing the world that you can travel around with nothing more than a rucksack and a motorbike has led a new generation into the unknown. Making us think it would be easy to stack up the miles and travel across entire continents, encountering a barrage of changing and challenging terrains without so much as a compass and a water bottle for company.

The Nolan X-LITE X801RR Helmet
17 March 2008
Lurking in the shadows of the familiar names of Arai and Shoei, Nolan X-lite has quietly protected the heads of both the 250GP and MotoGP world champions. X-lite have been producing high quality and innovative helmets for some time, while working in the retail end of the industry I became aware of the X-lite X901. I don’t think we sold one, this wasn’t because it is a bad helmet, it is however slightly odd looking thanks to its innovative aerodynamic design. Although the X901 was exceptionally stable at speed and light we all tend to stick to what we know and so the big two continued to dominate.
