2009: An LB Year in Review
08 March 2010 | 10 Comments
2009 was a great year for LB, made all the greater when compared to the downward direction the economy took - a situation which touched all of us in varying degrees. Despite that we had a fantastic total of over £9,000 raised between the London Air Ambulance and our member LittleMissT (Tania) who suffered a serious accident.

05 August 2008 | 6 Comments
With two World Championships, an AMA Series title and an Australian Superbike title under his belt, Troy Corser is already a racing legend. Since he started racing full time in WSB in 1995, he has started 295 races, had 33 wins, finished on the podium 122 times, got no less than 42 pole positions and 43 fastest laps. Still in Superbikes and in his second season with the Yamaha Motor Italia Team, there has been much speculation in the motorcycle press about who Troy will ride with next season. Foxy headed to Brands Hatch for the next instalment of WSB and to meet Troy to find out what is really going on...

Firstly it’s a chance for the UK fans to see Troy Bayliss, one of the paddocks great stars for the last time around the Brand Hatch circuit. The Unity Ride: Then and Now
24 July 2008 | 4 Comments
There are enough problems in the world today, just turn on the news to see, there are always stories of war, terrorism and needless violence happening around the world. On the 7th July 2005 the capital London came under attack from a terrorist act which left millions in shock. For Steve Marsh a biker who lost a colleague in the attack something needed to be done, he felt it important that their memories weren't forgotten and so the Unity ride was born. Below is a moving article in Steve's words of how the biking community came together to make a positive difference after such a disaster.

Petrol Not Included! - A Vectrix Electric Scooter
21 February 2008 | 7 Comments
Today’s the day, my first proper test ride for londonbikers.com. Yet I can’t seem to get too excited. Maybe that is because I’m to test the UK’s first serious electric scooter, the Vectrix. Marketed as the first true zero emissions scooter combined with the performance to match, if not shame its traditional petrol competition...

The 2007 LB Christmas Party - Awards & Charity Auction
16 January 2008
The evening of Friday 21st December 2007 saw the third Londonbikers.com Christmas Party go off with a massive bang. This year’s party was held at the Brookgreen Hotel, Hammersmith in London, seeing around 100 people turn up and enjoy the Christmas festivities. This year’s party not only included the annual Londonbikers community member awards, but also a Charity Auction in aid of the HEMS London Air Ambulance, where a very generous crowd spent an approximately, very charitable £2,500 in total.

Flyby & the BCW Charity Walk
04 October 2007 | 1 Comment
I put my name down last year for the Aviva walk for Breakthrough to Breast Cancer, but unfortunately was not able to take part due to other commitments at the time. I was totally gutted, especially as the most I got to do was turn up at the very end of the closing ceremony and pick my girlfriend up. I remember the atmosphere felt strange, a kind of satisfied sombreness! I couldn’t really understand it all, and as I listened to all the recollections of the weekend, I felt really disappointed that I wasn’t a part of it.

The Aviva Breakthrough Walk with Sincere
01 October 2007
For the second year running I was over the moon to be a member of londonbikers.com and act as a safety marshal for the Aviva Charity Walk London to Breakthrough Breast Cancer walk. The event is a sponsored walk for family, friends and victims of breast cancer to raise money for the breast cancer charity. On Saturday the 8th September the walkers were set the challenge of walking 44km through London from Richmond Park to Regents Park. The 44k walk represented the amount of people i.e. 44000 who are diagnosed with breast cancer in a year.

Londonbikers & the Aviva Breakthrough to Breast Cancer Walk
24 September 2007
Londonbikers.com and the Aviva Breakthrough for Breast Cancer Charity have just seen their second year working together on the annual Breakthrough for Aviva Breast Cancer charity walk through West and Central London. For the second year running, the members of LB did themselves and others proud by donating their weekend’s time this brilliant cause, the Aviva Breakthrough for Cancer charity walk. The 44 kilometres walk saw thousands of walkers’ trek from Richmond Park to Battersea Park, then onto Regents Park, via a very twisty route through West and East London. The event had been co-ordinated and professionally organised by Barro & M9Performance (forum members). The day had the full support of its members, with more members signing up than were needed. By 6am at Richmond Park, it was clear all would have a brilliant day.

RiderConnect & MCN 'Ride for Rights' 07
12 September 2007
Have you heard of the ‘Right for Rides’ campaign? No? Well we hadn’t either. Unless you fancy paying to use the roads that you so fondly ride your bike on at the weekends, pay the congestion charge for your motorcycle, or think that the latest call from Transport 2000 and other like-minded party poopers to the Government to restrict motorcycles’ power, weight and speed is right, then can I suggest you read on...

Biaggi’s Back and Loving It!
04 August 2007
Last September it was announced that Max Biaggi would be replacing Troy Corser and riding for Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra in the World Superbike series, who would have thought it! Nearly a year on, Max is second in the series and just 43 points behind series leader James Toseland, and looking like a strong contender for the title. Max’s performance has been consistent from the start of the season with eleven podium places, including two race wins, four second places, five third places and three fastest laps.

A Day In London On The 2007 KTM Superduke
12 June 2007 | 4 Comments
This bike feels naughty, like I shouldn’t be doing what I’m doing. Hang on a minute, I shouldn’t! But surely that's half the appeal? I’m trying to get to know a bike that’s about as different to my usual ride as anything else I can think of. I'm riding the 2007 KTM Superduke.

MCN London Motorcycle Show At Excel – 1st - 4th February 2007
08 February 2007
I have to say, that despite all the hype MCN has dutifully put about in order to crush the previous dominance of the Superbike show at Ally Pally, I was not that impressed with the new show that MCN had put on. True, there was lots of stuff there, many thousands of people, motorbikes, bits of kit for you and your bike and, that was it!

The Aviva Weekend to Breakthrough Breast Cancer Walk
20 October 2006
This was londonbikers.com's chance to shine, quite literally in front of the masses.
