The Road to Patagonia - Part 1
14 January 2010
A bit like the opening scenes of a classic feature, the characters of the story gradually get to know each other, asking similar questions, and nervously wondering what lies ahead. The cast of this particular road movie has gathered in Santiago, Chile for a Globebusters motorcycle tour of Patagonia. Together we’re a bunch of random bikers of varying ages and skills, thrown together by the desire to ride through Patagonia, one of the most beautiful and remote areas of the planet. Our ride will take us south through Chile and Argentina, along the beautiful Careterra Austral, and the infamous and treacherous Ruta 40. We'll get to Tierra del Fuego and Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, before returning north to Buenos Aires.

BMW F 800 R - The Future Is Bright
05 June 2009
The future is bright for BMW at the moment. Not just bright as in the retina-burning orange paint adorning the F800R that I’m currently riding, but bright as in BMW now sell more than 100,000 bikes a year and around 5500 of those are in the UK per annum.

Ace Cafe's Overland Adventure Tour Bike Day 8th Feb 2009
10 February 2009
The day looked promising from the outset, blue sky and with a temperature above freezing so I decided not to wuss out in the car but to take the 7 for a run out. When I got there I saw a sea of large imposing bikes, more aluminium panniers than surely is healthy, and immediately realised that of course average buyer of a GS this or KTM that isn’t going to be put off by the weather.

BMW K1300 Series Launch - The 'Sexy' One!
29 January 2009
BMW’s are getting sexier than ever. Once BMW motorcycles were at odds with the image conjured up by their cars: BMW motors represented class, money, power, performance and style, but BMW bikes represented…well, old people, coppers and dull IAM riders. The arrival of the BMW R1100S ‘sports bike’ changed things back in 1999, and later this year the arrival of the S1000RR will mark the completion of the journey from staid, stoic and sensible, to sexy, saucy and sensational. In the meantime we have these – the updated K1300R, and S, as well as the latest GT. But are they any good?

Michelin Launch the Anakee 2
12 May 2008
Nick Sanders, Ewan McGregor, Charlie Boorman, its all their fault. Showing the world that you can travel around with nothing more than a rucksack and a motorbike has led a new generation into the unknown. Making us think it would be easy to stack up the miles and travel across entire continents, encountering a barrage of changing and challenging terrains without so much as a compass and a water bottle for company.
