If you've ever wanted to install custom indicators at the front of your bike to promote the natural lines, but were unsure of what's involved, then perhaps this article can go some way in helping you get an idea.

The indicators used in this article are the Watsen Design flushmounts which are commonly regarded as simply the best ones you can get, period. The build quality is fantastic, the design sharp and the company a joy to deal with. Each pair is hand-made.

Below is a photographic breakdown of the steps you'll need to go through to install custom indicators on your road-bike. The bike used in this article is a 2004 Suzuki GSX-R 750, K4. The principle is the same for all modern motorcycles.

Step 1: Remove the "chin guard" in the wheel well under the front turn signal by removing the 5 "plugs" that hold it in place.

Step 2: Locate the mounts and bolts holding the stock units in place along with the stock wiring plug.

Step 3: Remove the stock units by unplugging them from the primary wiring harnesses and removing the bolts on each single post mount.

Step 4: This is how things will look when you are ready to begin installing the Watsen units.

Step 5: Cut the stock plug wiring from the stock turn signal. Splice the wiring from the Watsen unit into the wiring on the stock plug. White is positive and black is negative on the Watsen units. Ensure the polarity of your wiring is correct before finalising the installation.

Step 6: Thread the plug wiring through the fairing from the outside in. Reconnect the plug to the stock wiring harness. Apply a bit of locktight to the pole mount on the Watsen unit, slide the mount plate supplied by Watsen over the pole mount and tighten the bolt.

Step 7: Re-install the "chin guard" by sliding it into place snugly and reinserting the fairing plugs.

Step 8: Stand back and enjoy the sleek new lines of your godlike Suzuki supersport!!

Completed, all installed. Ready for action.
